Hi guys, I have talked to 3 compcam reps and received 3 recommendations for my build. I would please like your opinion as now I am totally confused. Will be upgrading valve springs. 5500 rpm max. This truck will not tow and is not a daily driver. Mostly a play toy
Magnum 270HR
XE 264HR
XE 266HR
96 F150 351
GT40 heads
1.6:1 roller rockers
Small bump in compression
Automatic 4x4
32 inch tires
Edelbrock truck intake with larger throttle body
90mm MAF
24 lb injectors
Headers and dual exhaust
Will be properly tuned for mods
Those two things make this a 0-4500rpm motor so cam it appropriately.
Well I pulled the trigger and decided to ditch the gt40 heads and Eddy truck intake. I figure I can sell them or save them for another project. So I currently have AFR 185 heads bolted on and I am deciding on the intake. I have decided to use the xe264hr cam. I returned the 24 lb injectors and will be using 30's instead. My current thoughts are too use the eddy lower with a Typhoon upper or just go with a Trick Flow setup. Any recommendations?
Use the eddy truck intake with the afr185's, you'll be building a car engine with a truck cam If you don't stick with a long runner intake. Or, just use a mustang style intake and go bigger with the cam.
