i was thinking of using the stock upper intake and using a trick flow bottomas for the cam i called cam research and im thinking of having them making me a custom cam for it and i'll get the matching valvetrain components
locate a typhoon lower efi intake and get an edelbrock car upper and us a phenolic spacer to help lengthen the runners. the stock 5.8 upper will not bolt to anything but a stock lower just so you know and this intake flows like pooh haha. if you run 35's plan on a 4.56 gears front/rear otherwise this motor build will turn out like pooh because that heavy truck and size tires will suck the juice right out of her. your 96 is also mass air obd-II so once you get all of this stuff done see about getting a dyno tune , this will get the most out of your combo. just so you know 9.5 with iron heads will require premium fuel. enjoy
it is mass air. and OBDII. if i use the edelbrock car intake then i have to use a single throttle body and make mounts for the linkages so i want to use somthing that will bolt on
yes, the 93 isnt a roller motor but you dont gain much with it. and ill save money when i get my custom cam made. i only paid $250 for the whole engine and it only has 80,000 miles on it. my 96 has over 102,000
