Dome Light Wire

Hi All,

I have a 2003 350 CC and want to install a switch to kill the dome lights when the doors are open. Does anyone know of a single wire that I can tap into to kill both dome lights?

Thanks,
Nick

Dome Light Wire

Thanks Mil1ion,

I have searched all of the news groups, but haven't really found an definite answer to this issue. Any idea if Ford is going to fix this? My dealer said that Ford claims the instructions for the dome light switch in the manual is a mis-print. I don't quite beleive it.

Thanks,
Nick

Dome Light Wire

Turn off the dome lamps!!!

I found a way to turn off the dome lamp and bed light on the back. I had the rear seat taken out which helps. I took off the headliner on the drivers side so I could see the wires coming off the light. They run down the drivers side rear corner. If you go to the floor in the corner (drivers side rear corner of the cab) you will find some wires. I tested them with a probe to see what was hot. There were 3 hot wires there. I believe the proper wire is black with a green stripe. I cut the wire, spliced a longer piece to each end I cut and ran those up to the metal piece right below the rear window. There are already some holes in the metal there which facilitate putting the switch in. I put a switch in and put each end of the wire I cut on opposite sides of the switch. Now I can turn off the dome light and the bed light (on the back of the cab). It works great. I work at night a lot and don't need the lights

Dome Light Wire

Manual says it's a Black/Light Blue wire going from the dome light to the GEM attached to the fuse panel under the dash.
