hi guys..i bought a midfifty dome light and having problems wiring. installed a centec wiring harness with a gm switch.Dome light only has one wire.when hooking up to door jam switches everything works until I switch headlight switch to left and then blows fuse everytime. Is it because its a ground and dome light is only one wire. Can I use switch to turn on or have to just get switch that goes on dome light.thanks
Since you only have one wire on the dome light switch I guess you are supplying 12v through the jam switches and using the cab as ground. GM supplies 12v all the time and sends the ground from the jam switches and the headlight switch. Putting 12v on the jam switch / headlight switch will blow the fuse because you are putting the hot wire directly to ground.

I don't remember what kind of dome light I used but what I did was insulate the dome light from ground and hot wire it. Use the terminal off the switch for ground. Worked for me.
