Fuel level sensor circuit

Hi all i am new here and i am at a complete loss. I have a 2006 f-250 super duty with the 6.0 and have a P0460 code. I have changed the sending unit three times now with the same results. The fuel gauge will work fine for awhile then quit and turn the code on. then it will start to work again. have had it in and out of the dealership but they dont seem to know what the problem is. anyone else had this problem and did you find a solution? last time dealership said its a wiring problem and wanted to charge and arm and leg to look for it.
