I have a 2002 Ford F350. The interior color code is CH. This translates to
medium parchment. Why is it so hard to find out what the dark color is?
Is it dark parchment and why don't they give 2 codes when there are 2 colors in the interior?
It seems to me that every cab has the same light/medium/dark color scheme of the chosen color (grey/brown). The color code is the base color that everything comes from. For 2002 they got fancy and grey turned to flint and brown turned to parchment. The specific panel color(s) are a predetermined shade of that base color. My interior is medium flint but some of it seems a lot darker than "medium" (upper dash, steering wheel, etc.). Just my .02
No, not quite. You are correct in that there is indeed a Medium Parchment. But the OP is also correct in guessing that there is a Dark Parchment, because there is. What's more, is that there is also a Medium Dark Parchment. How confusing is that?
The point being, as shown in the photo below, that there is actually a separate part number for the different shades of Parchment found within an interior of a given color code, and these different hues were at one point in time orderable as touch up paint from Ford.

Actually, Ford began calling the tan interior color "Parchment" in the Super Duty some two years earlier. My 2000 interior color is called Parchment. Or Medium Parchment. Or Medium Dark Parchment. Or Dark Parchment.
In fact, here are the spray cans of interior plastic paint that I got from Ford in 2001, that show the four different shades of Parchment. Ignore the Graphite and Charcoal color cans on the right, as those were for my E-Series cutaway.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing. Came across this interesting reference yesterday:
"Thanks, now to find some"

This may be a roundabout way to go but when I bought my Autometer gauges it included a spray can of paint of my designation per color code and was a perfect match. Might call them and see if they can help.
I got it at warehouse paints by me, but any major painting supply store should be able to order it. Just took the piece of my dash in and we looked at paint chips until we found a match. Dead on for the factory dash bezel brown with the tan interior.
Stopped at the Napa store. Looked thru their color chips. Only thing close was SEM 15723 Monterey. They would have to order it in so there would be shipping charges and if it didn't match I would be stuck with it.
