I've only found one YouTube video where the kid removes the grille to replace the headlights. (this is apparently not necessary for headlight replacement on 6.2 trucks)
Some guys posted replies there that the grilles with vents just inboard of the headlights would not come out as easily as the one pictured in the video.
I've got a set of Raptor style 3 amber LEDs that I kept from my 2016 F250 and would like to install them.
Any other sources for grille removal instructions? It's an XLT w/6.2 if that helps.
Looking at the backside of both grille styles (photos on eBay), it appears they attach in the same manner using the same clips. I recently picked up a Craigslist grille to play around with changing colors by wrapping.
Watch headlight Revolution's LED swap video. It's so simple, bunch of body clips and some screws and you're done.
I'll do a search for it. The video that I saw looked really simple. Basically pull all the fastener from the trim piece above the radiator. Yank on the grille to free it from some snap in fasteners. Then at the very bottom there were some clips that you push on to release, just like the previous body style grilles.
But some people were reporting that the grille simply did not release when pulled on like shown in the video. Guy were afraid that they'd pull hard enough to break something.
After watching the video I might even consider the Supernova headlight upgrade. I'd like to improve the headlights but at the same time don't want to blind other drivers. I meet some guy with an FJ Cruiser on the way to work every morning. Obviously upgraded to LED. He doesn't have his high beams on, but they're still annoying as hell. Very bright. I'd like to strike a balance somehow.
In case anyone is following this thread, here's a video from Headlight Revolution:
Using Headlight Revolution's video, my grille came out easily. I've read online and also checked it out with my truck that the grille and headlights do not have to come out to change bulbs with the 6.2.
Driver side doesn't look bad to get at. Passenger side has a piece for the air intake that snaps right out.
