I called my local dealer today. Little tired of the rattling door. I also mentioned the truck had a tsb I thought for fuel tank seeing I had a dte of 50 miles and I put in 24 gallons. They said only thing we see on your truck as far as recall is the chrome door handle? I have never been notified. But I have a xlt premium I'm not sure of the chrome code. But I'm wondering ar the handles covered with a chrome piece and I have painted under them? If so they are coming off lol. Any ideas?
TSBs will not show on the recall list. If they're claiming unfamiliarity with the tank TSB, get a copy of it and bring it with you, explaining that your truck is exhibiting the symptoms described in the TSB. If the truck is still under warranty, the repairs should not cost you. If the truck is beyond the 3/36 warranty but within ESP coverage, you should only have to pay the deductible. If your truck is completely out of coverage, you pay the whole bill. But do save the receipt - if that ever becomes a recall, Ford is required to reimburse any money you've paid for that tank repair, even the ESP deductible.
