I'm sure this has been covered before but wanted to see what others may have done.
I bought my '06 F-250 in Jan. 2007, but the truck was built in Nov. 2005 so it sat on dealer lot(s) for a while. Anyway, some of the metal chrome is starting to deteriorate. Namely, the edges of the front & rear bumpers appear as though the chrome is fading or wearing off. Plus I keep getting some pitting on the chrome step bars, on the top flat horizontal surface, even though I use chrome polish & wax regularly. Also the chrome tow hooks are starting to rust ( I have the chrome package).
My truck does sit outside all the time, but this seems lke premature wear to me. Do I have any chance of Ford replacing any of these parts? Should I just take it to the dealer? to the Service dept.?
Thanks
If you bought your truck new, all warranty coverage begins the day you signed the papers, not the year the truck was built. By all means, take it to the dealer. Even if you are a little over on your warranty miles, sometimes the dealer will still work with you....
