I contacted a dealer in Texas to order a new 2018 F-250/350 (haven't decided) and the dealer told me they cannot sell to California because of emissions. I thought the new Superduty's were "50 State Emissions" acceptable. Is there something different about California laws that they cannot sell diesel trucks? Please advise.
As long as the emissions label under the hood has "California" on it, you can register it in California as a new vehicle. I see no evidence that Ford has both California and 49-state versions of the 6.7 in the new Super Duty.
Can someone outside of California post a picture of their emissions label?
I just purchased a F450 in Las Vegas, Nevada and I'm registering it in California. California requires that you get a weight certificate and you have to smog it. Then you need to go to the DMV and get a VIN verification. After that you just submit the weight cert, VIN verification, the rest the forms, and your registration fee. Done deal.
Whatever dealer told you that you can't register a vehicle from Tx in California, especially a NEW vehicle, is lying to you. All SD's are 50 state vehicles AFAIK.
