Well, after 2,000 miles across country, she finally made it to AZ around 10:30pm last night. Driver had to pull off this nice little ride to light up the night sky and help unload mine.

She was covered in 2,000 miles of road grime. I spent the first day flipping black walls out, losing the chrome steps and getting AMPs, and giving her a nice hand wash. She's a joy to drive and the 4.30 feels right. Next up is ceramic tint, Katzkins, painting bumpers, handles, and mirror caps, and a few other non major mods.
Looking forward to many years of faithful service.
Night night new truck
When I got my F250 CCSB, the only option I was not able to find was the 4.30 gears.
Everything else was exactly what I wanted on it. I thought I would need the 4.30 gears, but it turns out I didn't, and it gets slightly better fuel economy because of it.
Towed a 8000 lbs skid steer up the hill like it wasn't there. Carries a 3000 lbs truck camper quite comfortably.
My advice: Don't get hung up on one option. If you find that down the road you really need it, you can always have the gears changed.
If the truck has all the other options you want, get it. It's easier to put the 4.30 gear set it, then it is to get other options put in (like the nice mirrors or cab lights).
I would not worry too much about the gear set, unless you tow 10k+ lbs on a regular basis. Up to 10k, you are good with 3.73.
It is easy to remember this little formula after some use. Very helpful to whip out the phone or calculator and do some quick cipherin' to get specs on a tire you see on a truck etc.
