Can anyone comment on their real world weight of their trucks?
I have a pin weight of 1500lb -2000lbs.. looking at the f250 xlt crew cab short bed with the 9900 gvwr package... wondering if I will be over? maybe I have to consider super cab instead? maybe someone can comment on their xlt supercab short bed weight?
payload reads in a 3154. by your math ....9900 - 3154= 6746#.. cant be right??
A smaller 6.2? Sure can. It would be great if Ford kept the 11,500# GVWR for the lighter F350s, but they don't.
Here's an example to show how this works. A loaded 4x4 6.7 crew short bed can weigh around 8100#. Subtract 750# when you have a 6.2, and you have 7350#. Lose the plethora of goodies for an XL, and you save about 500 more pounds for a 6850# truck. Lose the crew cab and/or 4x4 for several hundred pounds lighter still.
For my F450, it goes the other way from the 8100# example. Long bed, +200# for 8300. DRW, 450# more for 8750#. F350 DRW to F450, 500 more pounds, to reach my F450 King Ranch Ultimate's 9250# weight.
payload numbers were off a xlt 6.2 crew cab short bed...
So basically what your saying is including if the truck has the gvwr downgrade package, the payload sticker on the door will be correct in determining the exact number of lbs before exceeding gvwr.
Since i'm using the truck for work purposes I need to make absolute sure i'm under.. the ministry guys around here like to really make your life miserable for business owners apparently.
Just hit a scale sometime for more confidence (though the sticker is correct). Keep in mind that the door sticker payload includes post build accessories, driver and passengers.
I just weighed my 6.7L, SRW, Long Bed, Crew Cab, 4wd, Platinum with 5'er/GN prep.......COMPLETELY full of fuel and 3/4 tank of DEF...1 passenger (who's barely 100 lbs).
Fuel=Full, DEF=3/4 tank, 100 lb passenger, No Payload or Cargo (EMPTY) otherwise.
I hit the scales yesterday.
2018 F350 CCSB SRW 4X4 6.7
Full fuel/DEF, ACCESS Roll-up bed cover, 1" thick horse stall bed mat.
The numbers box for me: 11,500 - 7,900 = 3,600# + installed accessories.

Our F350's (configuration details in signature) GVWR is 10,600 lbs. The payload sticker reads 3968 lbs., suggesting the x-factory curb weight is 6,632 lbs.
After installing the camper tie-downs, turnbuckles, and bed mat, our otherwise empty truck with a full tank of gas CAT-scaled at 6,700 lbs.

The payload sticker on our truck does not include driver or passengers:
"The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed..."
