Popping when taking off...

My '06 F-150 started making a sort of pop when taking off from a dead stop. I can't so much hear it as much as I can feel it. Aside from the quick pop, she accelerates with no trouble. What could that be?

is this a 4 x 4? front wheels engage/ disengage with vacuum. Vacuum changes during acceleration... maybe the vacuum drops and the wheels try to engage ??
