Code Reader Connection
I hate to ask but....
Where is it!!!!!
I found the connector and read the code on my 94 so I figured the 96 would be in the same place. But it isn't. I'm having trouble finding it.
It's a 96 $.0l XLT. Any one with a 96 4.0 that can tell me? Please, before I pull my hair out.

Gee, mine is located on the bottom of the knee/kick panel right underneath the steering wheel.
It even has a nice little cap on it that says "Data Connector".
(1996 Aerostar 4.0L AWD)

OK, I can't find one under the hood. I looked and found the little data connector under the steering wheel. It will not fit my code reader. The old system used two connectors. One was an odd shaped connector. The other had only one wire. The new one is a simple rectangular connector.
So I guess they changed the system between 94 and 96. Is that correct?
