Fuel Pooling on Engine Block

Aloha! New to this forum so please forgive my ignorance. I have a 96 7.3 with 159k original miles. I notice recently that fuel mix with oil was leaking in my drive way. The other day, I took it to get service and when it was done. I notice that the truck was not idling right. It was acting like it was going to stall or die out. The RPM was between 800-1k. Just need help trying to figure this out,. I started it today and it was fine for a minute then it went back to the sputtering and the check engine light came on. Any help or direction would be much appreciated.

Welcome and I've been on here for 13 years and I'm still ignorant. lol If your losing a lot of fuel then that might be your problem-losing fuel pressure. There is two little hoses behind the fuel bowl that leak, might be that!

Or the steel fuel line may be rusted or the fuel bowl rusted. Salt water and all.

In other words, get under the hood with a flashlight and check the ENTIRE fuel system. There are a 100 places that fuel can leak and pool in the valley....o-rings, hoses, fuel pump, fuel bowl, fuel lines. Only you can tell by looking at it while the truck is idling.
