As mentioned in a previous post - I picked up an 07' F350 with 165k out of the auction and did "the upgrades" to help address the weaknesses of the 6.0l - so this truck is new to me.
I can't remember how quickly the 6.0 should fire - I usually have to crank it roughly 3 seconds - one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three.... fire... at times it takes only two seconds though.
Only once has it not fire up after maybe 4 seconds so I turned the key back then immediately tried it again and it immediately fired up.
That's seems to be ok I think ford says 3-5 seconds is normal. Maybe run it for codes and check for glowplug codes. Maybe wait just a second or two longer for the plugs to heat up.
I always wait 5 secs after the light goes out before firing up, generally within 2 secs of the starter turning. Maybe that might speed things up a little, but if you’re within spec I wouldn’t sweat it too much...
