Ok.....ive ordered the dongle from amazon.....should be here next week.
In the mean time Ive removed the turbo. The exhaust down pipe is wet, the exhaust up pipe is clean and dry, the outlet to intercooler has noticeable oil pooling in cac pipe/boot, the intake is clean and dry.
I split the exhaust side and the turbo is gummed up and seized. I will have to order a rebuild kit. With the solenoid in a stuck position for so long.....how do i know the solenoid still functions? Is there a bench test?
Also......have a look at these pics.....looks like my unison ring and lever pin are worn oblong???
suggestions?

Bad news is you're going to need a turbo. As far as I know they don't sell a kit with the lever in it. And the oil seal is blown underneath the exhaust wheel. The solenoid is most likely ok.

Yup, that turbo is done. you might be able to find another used turbo to get parts from but it might be worth wile to just get a new turbo from KC turbo or something.

I have another used turbo sitting on the shelf that i cant remember for the life of me where it came from.....other than it was in "working" condition when removed. I believe it was from an 05 as well
Ill pull the exhaust side and have a look.

Well that's handy having another turbo. If it were me I would rebuild the extra turbo you have with a new 360 bearing kit and clean the unison ring or replace it and call it done.

Now I remember why I didnt use it on my last truck. Good parts otherwise? Good unison ring and not stuck.
Maybe swap shafts and impellers/turbines from 1 housing to the other??

Should be able to swap it over. How many blades are on the turbine shaft on the turbo you removed from the truck? It looks to be 10.
See if you can get Charlie from KC turbos on the phone and ask him. He may be hard to get a hold of because he’s a one man show with a day job. Or call Barder turbo and ask them and while your at it order a bearing kit from either of them.

Get a KC 360* rebuild kit and clean the hell out of the center section as part of the change over. Use the VGT from the original turbo too IMO.

Do these ford VGT turbos have to have the actuator sweep recalibrated when you put everything back together?

Not if you do it right... There is a video somewhere about making sure you get the vgt cam right.

Ok....progress.....I think

I got 1 turbo from 2. I used the center section and unison ring from 1 with a good VGT pin....and the turbine, shaft, impeller and housings from the other. Interestingly....they both had the same number of fins (13), but the diameter of the impeller and turbine were different.....

Its back up and running.....haven't taken for a road test yet....but my OBD2 dongle arrived and I've been playing with Torque pro.
1 thing I've noticed........key on/engine off. baro 14.1 psi, intake 14.1 psi, exhaust back pressure 31.9 psi. What gives?? When running in driveway I can get EBP up to 34 psi. Could this be preventing boost? It seems "stuck" at 31.9
Also, what % should VGT be at? idle and revving up is 48-50ish %
What else should I look at?
FICM doesnt drop below 48V

Nice work with the turbo rebuild. Your EBP should match the MAP and BARO. Have you removed the EBP sensor and cleaned the tube and the fitting in the manifold? Your VGT at idle should be around 75-78%. The EBP being so high the PCM is most likely opening the VGT to lessen the boost. I think if you figure out the EBP pressure the VGT will come back in line.

Just read post #9 and noticed you did clean the tube. I think you will need a sensor if it was gunked up or you can try cleaning it again. If you clean it after your finished just plug in the connector with out reinstalling it and check the KOEO values again. If no change you will need a sensor.

I GOT MY BOOST BACK!!!

After a few road tests....and not much improvement, I tried unplugging and cleaning the boost sensor. Just gave it a little spray of carb cleaner, blew it out, and with the truck running, I pressurized the sensor and watched the gauge on the torque pro move to 30 psi.
As soon as I plugged it in I could rev it up in the driveway and get the needle to move to 5 psi!!
So another road test.......and instant boost = instant power! Night and day difference!!
So Im going to buy a new EBP sensor and boost sensor just incase it decides to "stick" again.
Here is my latest problem though.....as soon as I hit 5 psi or higher......it smokes bad out the tail pipe!! I am assuming the boost pressure is blowing what oil accumulated (from blown turbo) in the intercooler back through into the intake. I was revving it up a few times....seems to lighten up a bit...
Should I pull the cooler and drain/wash......or go burn it out on the highway??
Thanks for the help!!
