Console disassembly - need help please...
I started removing the center console (cup holders area) to get access from underneath to custom install new radios. I was only able to pry loose the first two pins closest to the arm rest corners. Unable to slide the plastic aft after that. I searched online and this forum but couldn't find pictures or files showing all the pins or the process that needs to be followed. Any help is much appreciated, don't want to damage parts.
Lift the rear most section upward to clear six push pins if I remember correctly. Next step is to pull backwards sharply towards arm rest. The vertical trim that surrounds the radio and climate control panels is a receiver of sorts for that console trim. Fun part is putting back in. Good luck.
If possible, not sure if this site supports search my post. I had pictures of console in a squeak noise type of thread.

Thx, I tried a couple days ago exactly as you stated above and based off a write up on F150 forum of console removal. It appears I was close to breaking it and decided to stopped. I need further help it seems. Thx for sharing.
I found the old images I took awhile ago. Looks like five visable locking tabs plus the two located at front most section that secure to the vertical trim pieces. They are not seen in images and I do not have any to post. Your results may vary, I am assuming we have the same center consoles, mine is a job1 truck built 10/16.
You can't remove surround trim around climate/screen panels/center stack until console is removed. Center stack/climate panel if memory is correct can be removed with console in place. Console is secured into that vertical trim unrelated to center stack. It is a bugger to get out and a bit fiddly to put in.
Prior to removing it I did not know how it was assembled. I looked into and did remove various bits to better understand. In the end I took a gamble and gave it some stick with the understanding that I might be replacing parts.
During that particular task I did remove the vertical trim and center stack to access the rear of radio unit to address other things unrelated. That is why you can see the panel on passenger floor. Unrelated to console removal.
My truck was in my shop, just verified my information. No tools required, lift rear most section up completely clearing locking tabs, pull straight back out of vertical trim. Console out. If you have lighted cup holders you will need to undo the wiring or unfasten them all together. I choose to unfasten because the connectors would not play nice and I did not want to break. You owe me a beer for weakening my locking tabs a second time.
