Coming out of a suburban, in which I use a large folding ramp to load and unload. No, I don't like my dogs jumping out, shoulder problems and wrist sprains over the years. Don't really want to haul a ramp, anyone made a shorter piece of plywood with carpeting over it that fits behind the seat?
Looking for ideas here, and yes my dogs ride in the cab.

Give this guy a call he can custom make you what you need: http://mageeproducts.com/dog-beds/
I do not know the size of your dogs or situation, I can comment on my solution. The bi-fold ramps were too awkward to deal with but worked great. I bought this ramp from amazon about four years ago, been using ever since. I could not find a name stamped on it. My dog is 57 lb mix of everything I think. She will jump from top of ramp to seat entering, exiting she will jump to floor, running board, and then ramp. She is not extremely heavy but just enough to be too much for me to lift. She is brave and great with steps and learning knew things.
I first thought the OP was referring to getting the dog into the bed of these trucks. I was going to suggest a crane or chain fall! Truck beds and tailgates get higher and higher. Before too long, all the trucks will have corner steps and extension ladders to access the bed.
livkot - missed this thread the first time though... love the custom dog bed so she can see out the window.... she looks well spoiled..
She is very well spoiled, thank you.
The bed was custom built by a rare breed, a craftsman. >70 years old, worked with wood his entire adult life. All hand made with exception of the couple dozen little spindles, he said life was too short for that.
Cost a fortune but I ask him to custom make most of my furniture. Alternative is a flat box with a tool kit or a made in China label.
