Hi, I'm hoping to pick the brains of everyone on this forum,I have a1989 Effy with the 5.0 efi , V8 and C6 tranny with the ambulance package that I've turned into a campervan.
I'm trying to source a replacement ECU and am having a bit of trouble getting the right information,my ECU has the description.
E9TF-12A660 ARIA
I can't find this exact model number, could it be because this Effy was sent here to Australia or has it something to do with it being an ambulance package, any help greatly appreciated, cheers.
Repair of ECU should be considered if possible. Oftentimes, not always, electrolytic capacitor replacement is all that is needed. A soldering iron and a few dollars in parts will get you going.
I think you are miss reading the number.
All ECU's have the center (base) number of 12A650.
The number on the part is E9TF-12A650-AR1A that is a one after the R.
Note the E9TF-12A650-AR2A was also used for your trucks Calibration Number of 9-54J-R10.
or
the Ford part number would be E9TZ-12A650-ARA or for a r/b it would be E9TZ-12A650-ARB.
Many thanks for the replies, unfortunately here in Western Australia my Effy is a rare bird and finding part's and knowledge is hard work, appreciate any information you can give me,cheers.
Thanks for the help, can you explain the difference in California and state emissions in regards to the ECU,I understand California has stricter emissions standards but what changes do they make in regards to the ECU,in Australia it's not really an issue as no one checks the emissions, I also noticed that some retailers are selling ECU with high altitude description on them, not that down here that'an issue either just interested, cheers.
