Hello everyone , I'm new to this forum . I have searched for information for hours .
I have 2007 f250 6.0 powerstroke .
So ive had cold starts since I bought the truck one month ago .
And ive experianced some long starts after truck has been running then turned off like while st a store or something . Then as of this afternoon I was going down the road at maybe 55-60 moh . Truck completely dies and I roll to stop onside of the road truck will not start , had it towed home , I could only get it started by using starting fluid in the intake , and it would only stay running if I kept the engine revved up . I am getting good fuel pressure up to secondary fuel filter , good oil pressure as far as I know .
The code thrown was p2290,
the truck would not start with the icp disconnected . Would it be safe to say bad ipr ???please help guys I'll answer any additional questions I can to the best of my knowledge .
Also I changed both fuel filters today also .
Get an elm327 Bluetooth dongle and forscan or torque pro... Toss a charger on the batteries and don't try to start it with less than 12.3v... you could kill your ficm if not already dead.
It is almost impossible to troubleshoot these trucks without live data... You can dump $$$$$$$ in them trying... Often for a solution that would have cost you less than $100-$300 if you had live data.

EDT: odds are you have a leak in ethe hpo system... Have you had the stc fitting done? Any leaks near the back of the engine? You can also try unplugging the icp sensor on the valve cover and see if it runs ok... Be sure you have fully charged batteries
I have already tried unlplugging icp and starting with no help .
There fuel to secondary filter and oil flows in good when pressing down on plunger in oil filter housing ,
Keep in mind that this truck has 2 oil systems. A low pressure system which seems to be fine (as indicated by oil in the oil filter housing), and a high pressure oil system that runs at 500-4000ish psi. The high pressure system runs your injectors.
You might have a leak somewhere in the high pressure oil system, or a bad electrical component. You don't know until you can tap into the computer and see what it's seeing.
This is why the live data tool is critical. Throwing parts at it can cost thousands of dollars and still not fix it.
