Well, I finally broke down and decided to send the old gal off to the local paint shop for some color and a new clear coat as mine started to peel last year. As the hood and roof are all but vacant of clear coat, it was time. As part of that process, I need to replace the stock emblems. While I have located a place that sells them:
They don't provide a point of contact or any information to contact them for questions...like do these emblems come with the backing adhesive?
Anyway, Are there any other recommendations some of you may have to locate OEM emblems. I looked at Ford Parts but all they have are the fender emblems but not the tailgate oval or plate
I agree, I thought $40 was ridiculous until I saw this:

That's a whole lot of NOPE!
Hey if you don't mind me asking, what kind of cost are you looking at for the paint job? I've started shoping mine around also, the clear is giving out and starting to peel. I've been getting prices of around $3500.00 for complete two/tone paint job. Just wondering if this is way out of line or not?
It comes down to what type of paint job you are looking for, as in quality. If you are looking to have the bed pulled, glass removed..etc, it's going to cost you. I have received estimates all across the board with one shop giving me a quote of 6k. This is an old truck that I just wanted some fresh color and clear coat applied so I went with the macco route. Mine is just one color and it will take about two weeks (by next Friday if all goes well). Out here for their best paint package it came out to 2k. If your vehicle is over 10 years old you need to pay 50% up front (as if I am not going to come back and get it when its done). They are guaranteed for 5 years so if it starts to look rough again in 6-10 years, I will just take it back and get it done again. I will post up some pics when it's done with a quick review on how it turned out.
I purchased all of the OEM emblems off of Amazon that are linked to various Ford Dealerships. The only one I did not replace with OEM is the door "Power Stroke Diesel V8" one and went with a simple metal plate that is marked "7.3L". I get many people asking me what motor is in it so now maybe they won't need to...
I have been wondering the same thing. I can't find F450 Lariat fender emblems for my truck. I actually stopped looking for them a couple of years ago....maybe somebody has them available now. Will reinstate the search...
That Maaco route isn't necessarily a bad option, if you're willing to do the prep work yourself. Back in high school my friend and I did all the sanding, primer, block sanding on his '68 Nova, after removing the bumpers, glass trim, etc. We rattle canned the door jambs and such before dropping it off at an Earl Scheib place near us. As long as the fellow holding the spray gun can put down the paint without runs, it'll look great. It's the prep work that counts.
