Sputtering Issues
My truck, Horace by name, has been running fine since I got him eight years ago. Recently, after driving about 45 minutes he suddenly starts sputtering and finally dies. Some times I’ve been able to get home nursing the choke and gas pedal. Sometimes he’ll restart after dying. I replaced the in line fuel filter and cleaned the bowl & screen on the fuel pump. Fuel looks clean. As far as I know, the carb has not been rebuilt.
1953 F-100, 239 Flathead 8, original carburetor.
I appreciate any advice.

Thanks. How do I check the output? I see fuel in the inline filter and the fuel pump bowl. After the truck has been sitting for a day or two the inline filter is empty but the bowl (downline toward the tank) is full.
Even when running, the inline filter is never full but I see fuel sloshing through it.
