Images I saw on the news were horrific. We have some friends in Sebastopol that (so far) seems out of the fray. Also have friends near Santa Rosa who have lost everything.
Thought I would stop by and say Hi. I hope everyone in NorCal is surviving our fires up here. That, and those that have asthma are making it okay. This smoke has caused me to have to rely on inhalers and my nebulizer for relief.
And, that's why I am up at this ridiculous hour; side effects of the meds means I'm not sleeping for a while. I like to be able to breathe but not liking the no sleep part.
Yah. The smoke has been pretty bad. Although yesterday seemed to be a lot better. I hope that means they're getting a handle on the situation up north. We've been in contact with some of our friends up there with mostly good results.
Not seeing a lot of smoke up here, but I was deep into the inhaler yesterday with the high winds, dust, pollens, and such. I hope that today is better.
The off shore winds are helping , with the smoke that is , not sure if it's directing the fire a different way , prayers out to all , oh I thought I read 45% contained , not sure witch area .
There are so many fires, and some have combined into "super fires". In addition, there was a new fire that popped up yesterday. There is some containment on several of them ranging from 40% to (I think) 60%. If the rain happens on Thursday and/or Friday as currently forecast, we might see this subsiding by next weekend.
We went on a hike near Coyote Hills yesterday, and while there was a lot of smoke haze all around us, the air smelled mostly clear (but my nose has become accustomed to the smoke).
The stories are horrific, but our friends in Fairfield got to go home yesterday (Atlas fire).
