Interior Door Panels

well I am replacing my broken door panels, But my question is those paper pieces that are between the door panel and the metal part of the door what are they for? and are they Important to replace? And If so where do I get those? Or can I just Improvise with a plastic Sheet?

Vapor barrier. You can get tar paper at most construction outlets-but it's usually sold by the roll

They might have it at hobby or craft stores...

You can also use a piece of plastic sheeting. You can usually get small rolls at home improvement centers.

Well I got er done today! I used tar Paper that a friend of mine had leftover from a roofing job. Put it between my door and new door panels and replaced a latch with a broken spring. Made a Very big difference at tightening up the doors. Alot less rattles.
