Good evening folks,
This is more engine related than van related so I hope I can post it here.
I've lurked this forum for a while, but could not find the answer for my question, so I thought I'd just ask. I have a 2006 E350 Passenger van with the 6.0. No mods. I am trying to see if I have a problem or not. My MAF reading on my scan gauge reads .15 at idle and the highest I've seen it go is the 1.50's. I have read that for the F-series it is supposed to be in the 4.0's. I am not sure how the van is supposed to run, but I seems like it lacks power. Also, my Boost never goes above 18.0 at WOT. I am also averaging about 12.7 mpg. Those seem low to me, but it's a van, so I don't know if it is or not. Please help!
Try cleaning the port that the MAP hose connects to on the intake manifold. They can get sooted up, affecting the reading at the MAP, and in turn affect the boost.
Be sure the hose itself is clean and not cracked.
As for the MAF, get some MAF sensor cleaner. Not just anything will do, be sure it's approved for a MAF sensor, those little wires are delicate!
Do you use anything for monitoring data live? Does it have any codes?
I guess it does have two mods. It is egr deleted. And the previous owner put a 7.3 fan clutch in it. It shows codes for those two things. otherwise no. I have a scangauge to monitor live data. I cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. Have not tried to clean MAP port. Am I right to assume that the scangauge reading for MAF is in volts?
