What do you mean them? I installed self drains years ago, every time it is shut down it drains Winter ready.

Never heard of that.. Everyone around here usually has the company come and blow the water out of the lines then cap the heads

I use to have to open drain valves located around the yard in the Fall and close them in the Spring. Only thing I have to do is open one valve in the basement to drain the supply line going underground. The system will drain itself.
