I have a 87 Bronco 11 with a 2.9 ,auto lock hubs & The elec. touch shift 4x4.
The touch shift is completly ded. There is no clicking from the relays in the module, No red LED on the module when I push the test button and there is no lights or responce from the pannel between the sun visors.
I have replaced the module, removed and when over the shift moter & limit switches(the motor run & shifts the trans. cace with 12 volt aplyed to it) tested the fuses in the fuse pannel & fuse links by the starter soliniod. All test good.
Is there something I am missing?
Yes, I replaced the overhead switch also. Still checking for broke wires and bad connections but only getting power to one wire on the module located in the dash. Is this right?
I found a broken wire under the hood by the coil. After it was repaired I get the red LED on the module after the test button is pushed. It stays on for about 30 sec. But still no responce when the 4x4 buttons are pushed.
Anyone know what the LED on solid for 30 seconds in test mode meens
To perform the Electronic Control Module diagnostic self-test:
1- Disconnect the two connectors, a 5-wire and an 8-wire, found together on one end of the black box.
2- Turn the Ignition switch to the "Run" position and
3- Press the small switch button on one end of the box.
A flashing indicator, about one flash per second indicates that the module passed the test. A steady indication indicates that the module is inoperative and must be replaced.
