Parking brake, Emergency brake 1963 F350

I would like my parking brake operational, it looks like my lining is wore out, any leads on where I might find a lining or shoe whatever nomenclature for my 63 F350? Any information is appreciated.

Also I am looking for the rubber boot at the base of the parking brake lever in the cab.

Thanks

Drum parking brake: What size are the shoes, 9 x 2 or 9 x 3?

It measures 9 x 2, I haven't been able to locate the shoe or the rubber boot in the cab. I appreciate your input. Thanks

I took a couple pictures and added.

Maybe you could find a place near you that could rivet a new lining inside that shoe. I am fortunate to have such a place near me. PS it looks like that lining would be longer than 9 inches.

As far as the boot you might take a heavy piece of an old inner tube and bolt it flat inside under that tin and cut a slot for the lever to slide in. Not ideal but maybe better than nothing.

Does your F350 have a 3 speed or A/T? Or a 4 speed?

Upper pic (lower): brake shoes and etc / Lower pic: parking brake system.

I was working on a decode for him from his other thread but I might as well paste it here. Double-check me on anything that seems out of line. His Warranty Plate picture was at this link.

Considering that we would use the same parts catalog to decode this jazz, it should be correct without me verifying it....because you're smarter than a whip.

Yes it is a lining or band type friction brake. After looking at it a little more, I think an adjustment will get me by, until I can locate the part, that has been my issue. Along with that parking brake lever boot, until I can find the part, a fabricated piece of inner tube will keep the cold out for now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Number Dummy,

Thank You for the exploded view, looking at the image I think the second view is my parking brake. Appreciate the factory part numbers, that should help in tracking down the correct needed parts.

Thanks again for your time and effort.

I apologize for my inexperience with these forums and how they operate, it's been awhile.

TA455HO,

Nice having the pedigree for my "tractor", Thank You.

According to your decode it was originally a Memphis District Sales unit, then I assume Moore Ford in N. Little Rock bought it or consigned it from them to sell. The original (1Moore Ford) stickers are on the hood. Best I can find Moore Ford was sold to another Ford dealer, but the building remains.

Thanks for the decode.

These numbers will be next to worthless for finding the parts, because...
These are not factory part numbers, these are factory basic part numbers. There's a HUGE difference!

Illustrations in Ford parts catalogs only show basic parts numbers. The text section is required to get the complete part number by adding the apropos prefix and suffix.

Basic part number for the drum parking brake shoe w/lining: 2648 = C3TZ-2648-A .. Brake Shoe & Lining-Use with 9" x 2" Drum type Parking Brakes / Obsolete

The part number for the 8" x 2" & 9" x 3" brake shoe w/lining uses the same basic part number and the suffixes, but the prefixes are different.
