red line
my 2014 f150 3.5 ecoboost tach is not marked with a red line. what is the factory redline on these cars.
I have used the redline as a guide in all my cars since 1968 and they have hit it often. although my Ranchero has gone from 5600 to 6800 since I first bought it after rods, cam, crank, pistons and valvetrain changes.

Re: redline
I found the answer on another ECOBOOST forum with a different search topic. it is 5800 to 6200. the pcm starts it at 5200 and ensures it by 6200. my question now is however if you have a tune the pcm may not stop it. I also feel there is a redline determined by engine internals like connecting rods and valve train. I will take it as 5800 and keep the engine safe. just like my ranchero I set it at 5800 with the tach shift light, this ensures a 6200 shift . It is expensive to blow up engines.
I need to find a drag strip close to Brownwood TX. I need to exercise the 390 Ranchero and chk out the F-150. The escape did 14.51 in the quarter @ 93 mph. I am 66 (wife say 19 when it comes to vehicles) but like to have a little fun every once in a while.
