My redneck limousine (my 6-door 06 F550/250/350) is nearing the point when I reinstall the engine after being built and bulletproofed. I want to buy an aftermarket 5" exhaust that is stainless (because I live near Salt Lake City and they use salt on the roads here like they have a free lake of brine, or something) and I don't want it to rust away. I ALSO want it to be black, because the rest of the truck is murdered out.

Do you fine ladies and gentlemen have any recommendations fire me?

Performance wise I've been told many times that 5" won't give you any performance over 4", but I have no way to confirm. I can tell you I went with a stainless FloPro turbo back with a muffler and am very happy. The muffler has 0 restriction in it and has a 4" pipe all the way through it. Turbo sounds like a leer jet..... :-)

 

MBRP, I thought they had a black system. Now stainless black, not too sure about that.

 

You could always get a bare stainless exhaust and put some high-temp paint on it, near the tip or all over before installing. Quick googling showed me Rustoleum has a 2000 degree spray primer and paint, AUTOMOTIVE
High Heat Primer Spray and AUTOMOTIVE High Heat (paint) that comes in black.

 

Thanks for the suggestions! I checked or MBRP, and it looks like they don't have a blacked-out option for stainless. What I think I'll do is get stainless, but install a black tip.
