Rubberized Transition Between Carpet and Dash

I'm not sure what this part is called. Mine is pretty ratty and I was trying to look up if they were available. Knowing what the part is called would be a start.

best to leave it alone , the upper part is super brittle with age you will never get it out in one piece.
i bought the repo firewall pad off Ebay , not sure if it comes with rubber part ( still in box waiting to put in .

looks like it might

Just an idea: If someone wanted to make a similar item, you might look into heavy 'Hypalon'. It is often used in 'rubber rafts', when they are expected to deal with rocks and abrasion. Available in long strips, and in colors.

I hear you - mine looks pretty fragile. I was thinking about replacing the carpet with rubber mats - I put a red carpet in when I re-did it 11 years ago, but I really wanted a rubber floor. More appropriate for a truck. If I do I'll replace the firewall pad at the same time.

I saw a job once where a guy used upholstery vinyl. He made a pattern out of wrapping paper then cut the black vinyl and affixed it with contact cement. Looked pretty good.
