Ive been looking at the skyjacker lift kits for my 76 highboy. I've heard their 4" lift kit would be the same as a stock 4" on a highboy and I've heard that there 4" lift would be a total of 8" meaning 4" extra than the height now. Can someone clarify this? Also what would be the most sound/ HD option? Add a leaf? And does anyone have sample pictures of a highboy with a skyjacker lift on it? I don't want to make it to high. Preferably only 2" over stock height which would be 6" overall.
Any lift for a 73-77 F250 should be in addition to the stock height, so a 4" lift would give you an additional 4 inches from where you are now (assuming you're at stock height). However, it is best to call just to be safe. I've unfortunately had issues with companies saying the Highboys have a "factory lift" even though there's no such thing. I spent about a month going back and forth with Monroe trying to get some stock replacement shocks, they kept shipping 2wd front shocks. I finally gave up when they wouldn't budge from saying they don't make shocks that fit the 73-79 F250s with the "factory Ford lift kit."
I've previously only seen the after pictures of the orange one. Nice to see both before and after together. The stance on both of these is great in my opinion.
My 73 regular cab F-250 4x4 is stock height on 35's. Stance is one thing to consider, but the ease of getting in and out of a stock height highboy on 35" tires w/o a step or grab handle is pushing it to me. I always have to help the kids get in. If you go with the lift you will want a step and/or grab handle.
Somewhere I have a doc with pics of crew cabs that have various lifts on them but I'm having trouble finding it at the moment.
