2012 short box on a 2000, issues?

I searched and couldn't find anything....

2000 7.3l and I need a new box. I know the 2012 will bolt right on, but recall that there were a few issues to deal with, fuel filler hose issue of some sort and maybe something else.

I have a line on the box, just can't remember the issues getting it on (other than slight body line differences for the look).

Does anyone knoe or can you link a thread?

Thanks!

Hopefully I don't get the ban hammer for linking another site, but this is what Google turned up... couldn't find one on this site.

The rear lights are different, so the plugs from the new box are needed.

Actually you could use any method of making the harness connections like a compression connection, soldering, or male/female 1/4 inch connectors, etc.

Your original lights should bolt in if not mistaken, then you can just transfer your old harness if you want to go that route.

In the information I'm seeing is that the sockets on the rear lights accept a different connection. Could you use some method of splicing the old harness to the new style bulb holders? Sure....but you have to have the new style bulb holder do to so.

Now...how sure of I of that? Not real sure. But I'll find out when I install a 2015 box on my '01. Oh, and if anybody has an extra tail light harness for a 2011-2016 box...I'd be interested. Cuz my flatbed has it's own harness, and I don't have a rear light harness to work with.
