Need Help Identifying a Piece

For the life of me I cannot remember where I removed these pieces from. Somehow I did not mark them, and now they sit lonely in a box. I am assuming interior, but I truly have no idea. Any help?

They go on either side of the radiator at the top. The one with the grommet goes on the drivers side and the headlight wiring goes through it. One of the bolts for the fender support and rad support holds it in place. Here is a picture of the drivers side I found on line.

Kudos to you for posting pictures but suggest that you put your year, model, engine and trans in your signature (UserCP menu link). That will let us help you more easily.

Shields next to radiator top

Saw this thread a while back and found it very helpful. The more I thought about it, another question came into my mind.

I know these shields are held in place by the upper rad horshoe to inner fender bolt. The bottom of each shield has a step or indent that suggests that the shield should fit over some other panel. Mine has nothing there and the shields appear to be pinched in place by the top forward corner of the inner fenders. This causes my shields to sit crooked or chanted to one side.

Is this normal or am I missing something?

Your help is appreciated.

Sorry, but I can't figure out why my photos are either sideways or upside down. Must be because I am using my phone.

Thanks

Dan

Well, for gosh sakes. I had a pair of those and couldn't for the life of me figure them out either. Good thing I don't need them with my custom rad.

The tab with the bolt hole goes between the inner fender and the radiator frame. The top outside lip that is turned back, hooks under the top edge of the inner fender. I can post photos tomorrow.

Well, tucking it under the roll in the the top of the inner fender makes perfect sense. What about the lower portion of the shield. Why is there a step in the lower portion of the shield.

Thanks
Dan

You can see the folded piece at the bottom edge of the part. Mine aren't knotched on both edges, so they wouldn't work at 90 Degrees.

Here are some pics of mine. I believe the tab that is on the bottom of the piece should be bent back at 90 degrees, like the ones pezsox shows in his photos, to fill between the radiator and radiator frame. Mine are folded up and back on to the back side. You can see it in one of my photos. I did not bend them that way, that was the way I took them off of my truck.

Thanks for the photos. Thanks to all that replied.
I now know what needs to be done to make my shields fit correctly. I may have strengthened the bottom of the shields a long time ago not realizing that they were bent that way on purpose.

Thanks again.

I can always count on answers to my questions from my fellow members here on FTE.
