Time to say goodbye

It's been a long 11 years since I joined although the diesel was fun, I'll admit. The time finally came for a change . Just took delivery of a 2015 F-150 with the 5.0 v8. The big blue beast is going up for sale. Locally any way. I have some odd and end parts, 7.3 related that will go on the for sale forum. Or given away. Soon as a locate all of them.
Yes I loved that truck, but I'm not getting younger and since my wife and I are both retired, we don't have the disposable income we had before.
I once said I'd never get rid of it, but you know what the Good Lord has a way of opening your eyes..
I want to take this opportunity to give a big THANK YOU to all the ones that helped me in the past, there's things I did , fixed, upgraded that could not have been done without you. FTE is still the best.
I'll still linger now and then, but focused in the light duty forum mainly.
Thanks for a fabulous 11 years! God bless, Bill

You don't actually have to leave. You've got the years under your belt and some experiences that can still be useful. No reason you can't stop by and comment on threads here.

Bill,

What will you do for a camper? I am getting closer to retirement myself and my Superduty will soon enter into it's next stage of life as well, towing a TT. It's just too good of a truck for me to think about replacing.

We sold the truck camper 3 weeks ago, and we're looking at a Lance travel trailer now.

Lance makes good stuff, i had their 11.5 foot camper for a while. Recently we looked at the 2375 with two entrance doors and recliners. Most people I know find that RV couches are comfortable for about 20 minutes.

I know lot's of guys tow TTs with F150s but just be careful of your payload and towing caps. Don't forget to add your WD hitch setup to the payload number, and all the crap you might plan to carry in the truck. We don't exactly travel light which is another reason I want to keep the Superduty. We are currently studying Airstreams.

Enjoy the new truck! They look great aside from the seagull-splat headlights. The ride is nice on those, in another class from the SuperDuty.

We started with a slide in camper too, on earlier Fords. The revelation with a trailer is the ability to drive off to the store or to see the local sights without breaking camp.

When it happens show us the trailer too.

We're currently cutting a deal on a Lance 2285, like the rear kitchen setup. i got a great deal on a equa-li-zer hitch, 4-point sway control and weight distribution, 1000 lbs -10,000 lbs.. Airstreams are very good, made here in Ohio.

As mentioned before, you are more than welcome to drop by anytime you like to chat. I was once told that retirement is equal to 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday... Looking forward to that time.

Safe travels and adventures.

Yeah... no need to take off. You're still welcome here... and the Morning Coffee thread means were no longer all 7.3L all the time.

I have never liked the look of the headlight setups Ford went to for their trucks, but that new-to-you F150 really looks nice!

Don't be a stranger!
