They are rusted out and I'd like to replace them but these headers are out of production as far as I can tell. Look better quality than those cheaper Hedmans.
If you concerned about cost, build a set yourself. Otherwise, pony up and buy the Sanderson's.
Just my two cents.
I hear you. Not trying to be cheap I’m pretty sure now my current rusty headers are the flowteck two piece ones I posted above. Mine are shot with pin holes and I know they need to go. I’m hoping they will last until I make some other upgrades to the truck. I don’t want to replace them with the same ones until I can confirm the high pinion dana 44 I have will clear it. I’m fairly sure it won’t but want to check with the rusty ones in place before I change to something like the Sanderson. I’m still not sure if those will clear the high pinion either with the output in the center so I’m hoping to do the axle swap first so I can at least run the exhaust down and around the axle.
I bought them used on Craigs list. Not sure but I'm guessing block huggers? I haven't had a chance to install them yet but I did look things over close and I think they will work. The passenger side will go over the top of the starter it looks like. Seller said these were used on a mid 70's 4x4.
As near as I can tell these are the Sanderson FF394-p headers for a 61-66 T-Bird. For the price I had to give it a try. They do appear to follow the factory manifold locations and tuck in close to the block. Not sure if these would work on other applications but with my early frame style 4x4 with the leaf springs and single front engine mounts and dual bell housing mounts I think they will. Anyone else tried these?
