Should I run away and keep looking?

Evening everyone,

I was just looking at an 09 Sport Trac Adrenalin, and I found that the coolant bottle was full of build up for lack of a better word, and the coolant smelled a little like burnt rubber...

Here is a pic of what it looked like:

There were also some indications that front end works was done as there was overspray from a not so good repair shop.

While I can look past the overspray, should the bottle residue and who knows what else I am missing scare me away?

I am thinking I should keep looking, but I am also curious if I am over reacting.

Thanks!

Anything in the tank has to be added from the outside.. Inside "leak" would be motor oil or trans fluid...... I would guess this is some type of block / head gasket sealer. Should be poured into the top radiator hose if needed...... looks like someone dumped it into the tank ...... I would guess a repair "fix" was done for a head gasket leaking.

Honestly, that was what we were thinking as well. I guess I will keep looking. That stuff seals up more than just the leaky parts
