Radio/C.D. player overheating

I have an in-dash combo cassette/cd player on my 2003 F150. After in use for a while it gets very hot. This is a new problem. I've had this unit for many years and never noticed a hot cd before. The unit still functions normally but is definitely too hot. The longer it was in use the hotter it got.

The Air conditioning was in use also at the time.

I saw a couple old posts on this problem but no solution and was wondering if a solution was ever found
