2011 F350 rear parking sensor problems
I bought all 4 new sensors and installed them. The system started working. Then about two weeks later, I was putting my boat in the water and got the rear of the truck wet. After parking the truck and restarting it, got the Check Parking Sensors warning again. By that time I got VDS and checked the error codes for the PAM (parking aid) module. The code came up as Power Circuit short to ground. I unplugged the rear parking sensor harness and the code didn't change. So I figured there must be a break in the harness somewhere. Went to Ford, got a new harness, just installed it today hoping the error message would go away... no luck. Still same code popping up, short to ground. I checked the parking aid system fuse #35, it's ok.
I think the PAM module itself is OK since the VDS system is able to retrieve the codes from it. The sensors themselves are also OK since i tried unplugging them one by one and the VDS system shows an new fault code every time a sensor is unplugged.
I guess my next course of action would be to find the PAM module and check continuity between each end of the parking aid harness. My question is, where the heck is the PAM module? I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere. Also, is there something else I'm missing? Maybe someone has had this issue before and knows a solution? Thanks in advance for any help
On my 2006 and 2011 F350s, I replaced them while under warranty a few times. Once the warranty was over and they died again, I just left them dead. Every once and awhile they'll let out a pathetic chirp when I shift into reverse.
My 2011 has a rear camera, which is better than the sensors. Otherwise, the mirrors work just fine.
Anyway, back to my question... I went out to the truck and found the module. It's located on the driver side, behind the side cover on the dash. It's got a speaker mounted on top of it, fairly easy to find. Here are some pictures for those interested... Next step is to test the wires and hopefully find the broken one. I'm thinking if I do find a broken wire, I'll just run a new one from one end of the harness, down the side of the truck, and tie it in to the other side. Otherwise I'd have to take the entire truck apart the dig the harness out...
Does anyone have access to the F350 service manual? I'm sure it has steps outlining which wires to test

thanks for making my day....sorry they didn't work but that was funny

i bought my truck (2012 f250 lariat) from the first owner, he told me the parking didnt work for a long time. I have a LAunch x431 Pro, i did run a test and i got the next errors:
B1B48:14 Left rear outer sensor
B1B44:14 R R O sensor
B1B50:14 L R I sensor
B1B46:14 R R I sensor.
I replaced all 4 sensors, cleaning connectors with special oil and it still showing me these errors. I try to clean DTS few times.
I tried few test with the scanner and the PAM works just fine, speaker works and i have connection with the PAM.
Do all the cables go direct form the sensor harness to the PAM? (I tried to find the diagrams but i didnt have luck)
Does someone have the electric diagram to check the wires?
Did someone have the same problem inclusive after replacing the sensors?
Any help, picture or electric diagram would be really apreciated.
Thank you
