HELP 429/460 SWAP
Swapped out the 429 to 460 engine in my 73 f250 2wd automatic. works great until you start it and it gushes transmission fluid. Everything fits correctly except the torque converter. The flywheel doesn't come flush to the flex plate. We have called multiple transmission/parts shops but no one has a torque convector withe a "smaller" **** on the flywheel. Obviously we're missing something here anyone know what????

Ford changed 429 crank pilot size around 1971. Early ones (1.848) were the same as the 390/428. Later(1.375) were the same as the 351M/400. It appears you have the wrong converter. I got mine(for a C-6) from Oregon Performance Transmission. Oregon Performance Transmission
