I ran into a F-800 fire truck for sale . Question is the cab the same as our f-100's ? I is a 53 but has an overhead engine in it. The cab and doors look to be in excellent shape so for the price the cab and doors alone are worthy of the price of $2500.00
What cubic in.
Cab looks to be very good. Doors shut like they are new. I tried to buy just the doors and can't be done have the whole thing or nothing.
My 52 F7 Fire Engine has an original Y-block OHV engine in it. 128 HP. Ford didn't have a production OHV V-8 engine that year the engine is a Lincoln. It looks the same as your's.
The owner is going to use the hood for another build he is doing but has a hood for it. I don't need it at all. If some one is interested let me know and I will give you the info.
If I were building one I would pay that price to start with clean, rust free sheet metal. Like most here I started my build replacing cab corners and lower door skins, this would save a lot of grief.
Art,
Old Farm and fire trucks usually have pretty nice Cabs. It is a great place to start a new project. I bought a 56 fire truck cab a couple of years ago but got strapped for cash and sold it. Wish I had it now
