Anyone have the 2017 schematics?
I'm looking for the steering wheel switches. On the 2015, this is section 60-5 for the left hand switch and 130-21 for the right hand switch. Might be somewhere near the same for the 2017.
I'm looking into the possibility of a 2017 steering wheel on a 2015 truck.

I'm pretty sure I could get them from the Ford Service website. You have to enter a VIN and it costs something like $25 for 3 days access. Since there are a bunch of wheel options I'm not sure what VIN I would use. That's plenty of time to pull down the schematics. I thought someone here with a 2017 would have gotten the service docs, or maybe someone that has access to them through work might offer them up. But not yet....

Well I did pay the $23 which turns out gives you access to all of Ford's product line for three days. From that I was able to determine a number of things. The 2017 Superduty steering wheel switch gear has a somewhat different architecture. While it could be hacked to work with a '15-'16 truck, it would be some work. It turns out that the 2016 F150 is much closer, just a little hacking on those switches should make them work. The problem with the F150 wheel is it has a very different airbag, a two stage affair with two firing squibs.
A little more research and I find that the F150 switch gear looks like if mounts on the '17 F350 wheel and the switches are cheap, about $25 each side. Now a '16 airbag will not fit on the '17 wheel, so a '17 Superduty airbag would have to be used. It has a slightly different connector than the '16. From what I can tell, airbag squib drivers are somewhat generic, but contain a diagnostic function that measures the squib resistance and leakage. So today's question is, what is the resistance spec of the '17 airbag squib (the '15 is 2.19 - 4.08 ohms)? This would be in the service manual, 501-20B subsection 3 probably or nearby. Trouble is my 3 days have run out. Does somebody have access to look it up? If the resistance is in the same range which seems likely, then the connector can be changed out and I can put my Frankenstein wheel on my '15 truck without it setting airbag DTC codes.
Yes, I already know that messing around with the airbag and control circuits could be hazardous, no need to remind me.
