HPOP bench test?

is there such a thing? I really don't wanna take this thing apart twice.....hoping for STC fitting failure but have my doubts....has only 330# cranking which isn't enuf....using torquepro
there is another post with the backstory.....
'06 6.0l 165k died while towing, just shutoff, was running great for a long time prior...all deltas good, wasn't watching HPOP #'s, it just cutoff....I don't have fittings to pressurize system to listen for leaks, on a tight budget....no luck finding a mobile diesel mech here in clt to diagnose it for me....I did update standpipes & clean turbo(not related) change one injector but otherwise the truck is stock. oilcap, filter etc all motorcraft....fuel bowl full...tries to start w either...new batts, FICM etc all read good...

thanks for your time

Having that adaptor to do an air test with covers two things. It lets you
do the air test and it also will allow you to check the fuel pressure. The two
fittings use the same fitting.

No as for the HPOP not as likely as something else. STC fitting but that is still guessing.
The HPOP in the 05 and up tended to be a good long lasting pump with little failures.

I can't find the thread but someone had posted a list of pressures and what to look for
with each one. One would be the Stand Pipes and Dummy Plugs and one would be a blown
STC fitting and things like that. If I recall correctly a BAD STC (I think) was the one that
would give the some pressure where the Stand Pipes and Dummy Plugs would give you more
but not enough to start. A totally blown STC would not give much at all and may find oil
leaking from the rear of the engine if the cover got cracked when it broke loose.

You really need to put air to it or your going to be throwing money at it with the hope
that what ever part fixes it

When the engine is cold do you get any more pressure in the HPOP?
Have you unplugged the ICP sensor to see if that will start it?

One other thing to investigate would be the IPR.

Was just thinking that thread might be in the Tech Folder. Worth looking.

Yeah I did dummies n standpipes since they were easy....did unplug ICP no start.
Maybe a better question would be can a good HPOP and/or STC go from good to almost failing(350 cranking psi now), or do HPOPs just grenade when they quit?
I can get it apart but really don't what to look for while inspecting pump. I haven't had a ton of time to search the forum or videos..... Not trying to b lazy just efficient with time
Tyvm for your time
