I reconditioned my panel truck seats. A thread documenting the process can be accessed from my profile page. My thread includes some pictures. I believe panel truck seats, at least from 48 through 56, are all essentially the same.
The panel truck did come with two bucket seats, the passenger side was optional and the rarest panel truck part to find. The passenger seat took up room and these trucks were used for work and the space was needed for storage. They are even more rare than a good set of rear doors.
I have the stock seats in my '48 panel. If I wasn't trying to keep it stock I'd sell the seats and go for a bench. Riding around in the truck and making corners is kind of a interesting event at times. The seat doesn't hold you in and you tend to move around a little. I'd like a modern bucket seat with a "bucket" to sit in.
