Get some extra height on my stock 1990 F150 2WD

Hi guys - looking for some recommendations to raise my truck using just new tires. I think I have the stock rims 15". These are what I have today. I really do not want to spend on lifts etc. No off roading but just road driving with some extra lift for flood situations again here in Houston.

You can probably fit 31 10.50s under there without issue, but they're not gonna be a whole lot taller than your 235 75s.

To fit something taller you're going to need a lift on a 2wd... just in the front. Or a body lift... or a boat.

Stay dry, stay safe.

Ya, 235/75 are near 30" tall. My '89 2wd sat pretty tall for just a 2wd truck. I was surprised.

boat might be a good investment here. I had not realized that my original tires were almost 30'' tall. Guess I could measure it. Even one inch more is better.

A 265/75R15 is also about 31" tall but is a little narrower than a 31x10.5 which means it has a smaller contact patch which usually produces better traction on wet roads. There will also be differences in the overall diameter of tires of the same size rating from manufacturer to manufacturer, and an LT tire will not squat as much as a P tire and that means the rolling diameter is closer to spec.
