I'm thinking you may be able to connect some sort of short strap between the bed and the tailgate to keep it from going down in case the remote latch is released.
Late addition to the thread and no picture handy but tonight I hit the remote start on my Lariat Ultimate F250. All I can say, in a dark parking lot with the mirror lights and the cab clearance lights, cant beat the look! Cab lights were a must for me.
