Clearance lights

I used the search but did not come up with much info. My truck was not equipped with cab lights and I want to install them. I could get some from the junkyard from an OBS truck but I dont really like the style of them since the mounting screws are visible. Anyone know if SD cab lights would fit our roof contour?

I tied other kinds of "Roof Lights" for my OBS and found that they all mounted differently than mine so I opted out because I didn't want to drill more holes. I think SD lights would work if you didnt mind drilling into your cab. I found replacement roof lights for mine on LMC truck under "Roof Lights" (I think ours are the best looking anyways)

Thanks, I just checked LMC. The ones on there are a lot nicer than the ones I found at the junkyard.

To each his own. It's your truck and make it look the way you want it.

Personally, an OBS has to have original cab lights or it just looks goofy to me. Maybe because I've seen mine everyday since I bought it off the lot in '96 and it's what I'm used to.

x2 Jim. I've seen OBS trucks with contemporary(rounded) style cab lights and I just don't like it much. Our trucks are squared off and have nice angles not so much curves. The cab lights styled the same way look way better IMHO, ie: factory lights.
Anyway, sorry, I digressed. Here is a pretty recent thread with a good bit of info on where to get, what styles there are, and how to install. Also stuff on LED use and making your lights to the Electric Slide when you lock by remote!

I think Jim wants to put the new chevy clearance lights on his truck. The long center one with the two little ones on the side...

i just installed the clear lens onces from lmc truck, 100 shipped and it was a blast to install them. just you have to pull down most of the metal and plastic trim in the truck then pull the roof liner most of the way out, atleast till you get enough room.

i wouldnt install superduty lights in yours, theres a second layer of metal in our roof conveiniently where you mount the lights and superduty lights use a nuts and bolt to secure them to the roof and i just dont see enough room to get it in there, i had to use a coat hanger just to get the wires out when i snaked them down the hole from the roof.

i forgot to put pictures up but it looks pretty badarse with the smoked clear corners and clear cab lights! not crazy about led but.... it works.

Get some pics up when you're able. I'd like to see it. I've got some good ones of mine on the camera that I'll put up tomorrow when I get home.

There's some pics of mine with the factory style lights on it in the Show Off Your PSD thread. Except I spaced them evenly instead of three c middle and two outside like stock.

Interesting. Seems like all the trucks around here have the 3 closer and outside farther, including my neighbors. I imagine that even a machine can't put those on. Wonder if it just depends on what the guy felt like doing that day...
