Several months ago, I made a huge mistake and didn't think to check my antifreeze. Long story short, block cracked in two places. I purchased a running driving truck to get mine running again. I have a few things I want to do when I pull the motor from the donor truck.
Once it's out, I'm going to pressure wash the motor to remove any grease and oil. I'm going to check the up pipes for leaking. I'm going to replace any and all gaskets that I need to. Possibly even the head gaskets and head studs. Not really sure how far into it that I want go.
Are there other things to look at while it's out?
I would remove the heads just tobsee in what condition the cylinder walls look like. And you can give the heads an refresh with new valve seals and valve lapping to make surebthe vavlves are sitting properly.
