So your power mirrors are acting up, intermittently. It seems to be getting worse lately. Right?

You think you need new mirrors from A1: https://www.1aauto.com/ford-mirror-p...1111800&y=2000

Or maybe this:

Well, the latter is closer, but you really may only need this:

That's how I just fixed my 2000 SD mirrors, for free. Both were acting up, more and more, because our kids are tall boys and shorter girls, driving my truck, and they adjust the mirrors a lot.

I thought the mirrors were toast, but really all I needed was to silicone lube up the switch on the driver door. I worked the switch up/down/right/left a couple dozen times in a puddle of lube, wiped off the excess, let it sit to drip dry inside, and presto bunco politico chango ...they are fixed! Healed.

So save your time and money, try lubing up that switch first!

Eating crow now ... my fix was only temporary

A week later, my 'fix' didn't work anymore. I ordered the mirror switch from A1 and now it's really fixed.

So if you take my initial suggestion, it's probably best to order up the replacement switch and have it on hand for a week later.

Crow tastes like victory in the morning.

Maybe use contact cleaner, instead, the kind that is safe for plastics.

This makes me like my manual mirrors a little more...except the constant shake at idle or driving
